Kindergarten Rules
Behavior and Discipline:
All children should have the opportunity to learn in an environment free from distractions, and classroom rules set the guidelines for student behavior. I have high expectations for a successful classroom, and I believe that if each student understands the consequences for breaking the rules, he/she will adhere to them accordingly.
If a child is consistently having difficulty following class or school rules, I will send home a report to communicate areas in need of improvement. I will contact you by phone if there is ever a situation that needs to be discussed. It is important to me that we keep our lines of communication open and work together to meet the needs of your child.
Kindergarten has a band behavior system. Each student will receive three bands each day. When a student is not following rules and procedures, a band is removed from their wrist and a consequence will follow. Students can always earn extra bands for good behavior. The teacher will mark the Behavior Calendar based on daily behavior. If your child receives mostly happy faces on their calendar, their report card will show an E for excellent.
Classroom Rules
Consequences:
1. Verbal warning
2. Lose a wrist band. (#1 mark in passport)
3. Move to a quiet spot to reflect on task. (Lose #2 wrist band / receive a mark in passport)
4. Move to another classroom. (Lose #3 wrist band / receive a mark in passport)
5. Note home / phone call (Mark in passport with a comment)
6. Student Report / Principal
